  The Elia Kazan Collection DVD

Maybe the name Elia Kazan doesn't immediately ring a bell with you, but you should be familiar with his prolific body directorial work.

In the 1940's and into the '60's Kazan left his mark on Hollywood with films like A Streetcar Named Desire, On The Waterfront, East of Eden, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn to name just a few.

Not only was Kazan an multiple Academy Award winner he collaborated with many screen legends such as Marlon Brando, James Dean, Gregory Peck, Natalie Wood, Warren Beatty ... well you get the idea, he is kind of a big deal.

Even though his amazing film career was tainted in the madness of McCarthy era blacklisting many filmmakers since him have regarded him as their inspiration, including one Martin Scorsese.

So come November 9th a collection showcasing 15 of Kazan's films is coming to DVD along with Scorsese's new documentary/tribute A Letter To Elia (premiering on PBS October 4th 9pm EST). This promises to be an incredible collection with a few of these films are coming to DVD for the first time.
